Plant Pathologists conduct research in nature, causes, processes, development, consequences and control of plant diseases and decay of plant products. They compare healthy and diseased plants to determine symptoms of diseased condition and studies kinds of plants and insects that transmit diseases. Plant pathologists isolate disease-causing agent, studies habits and life cycle and devises methods of destroying the agent. They investigate the rate of spread and intensity of diseases under different conditions of soil, climate and geography and predict outbreaks of plant diseases.
