Movies goers always take the film projectionist for granted until something goes wrong and they start booing or throwing litter at the projection booth at the back of the theater.  The projection booth can be as complex as a multi-projection system to cover a Cinerama-wide project or a simple large format high definition digital projector which a seasoned film projectionist can be trained to handle.
