The train officer yelling “All aboard…last call for Chicago” is the yardmaster or the train conductor doing his job as the train pulls out of the rail terminal. Conductors coordinate the activities of train crews and passengers in order to keep the operation running seamlessly and on schedule. They collect fares or check tickets, announce upcoming trains stations and stops, announce safety rules and  answer passenger queries. On freight trains the conductor is responsible for keeping track of records, and making sure the freight arrives in the same condition as it was received.
