To lead on philharmonic or symphony is the most prestigious position a composer and conductor can have as it means a presence in many high profile gala performances and concerts with the wealth of classical and contemporary music under your baton with a potential string of recordings for global distribution. The position also opens up film scoring which can further add to your prestige. A resume here will require a portfolio of recorded orchestral performances.
