Using aerial, satellite and land surveying equipment along with cartographic resources and computer programs, land surveyors conduct legal land surveys to establish and define real estate property boundaries, analyze natural and man-made features of a land and determine feasibility for development to create official documents pertaining to these areas. Land surveyors are among the first consulted in any civil or government land development projects as well as dispute over property lines and may testify in civil cases.
